*) DNO’s recognized NE production excludes export production as DNO is awaiting confirmation from the KRG with regards to payment of exported crude oil as agreed earlier between the Federal Government and KRG.
The production figures include crude oil consumed in the operation of the Company’s production facilities, at an accumulated WI volume of 192 bopd and NE volume of 128 bopd in the first quarter of 2011.
As previously reported the export from Tawke was halted for 7 1/2 days in March due to repairs of the Iraq-Turkey pipeline. Adjusted for this, the gross production from Tawke while exporting was around 59,000 bopd in March.
DNO has also installed facilities at the Fishkabor tie-in area to handle third party export (i.e. crude oil delivered by other PSC holders within the region) and during March the third party exported quantities through the facilities operated by DNO were around 7,300 bopd, or 9,600 bopd adjusted for the shut-in period.
Gross production from Tawke in April is estimated at around 64,000 bopd, and third party exported quantities are estimated at around 12,400 bopd. Total exported quantities from the DNO operated facilities at Tawke and Fishkabor in April are therefore expected to be around 76,500 bopd.
Drilling and well operations
Kurdistan Region of Iraq
Bastora-1/-1A
The Bastora-1A is the horizontal well, side-tracked from the Bastora-1 discovery, announced earlier this year. The Bastora-1A horizontal section is 660 m long, and was drilled to a total depth of 3536 m, measured depth (MD). The purpose of the well is to perform production tests in the cretaceous formation, by the use of a horizontal well drainage strategy. The horizontal side-track is now completed, and the production test is expected to commence within the next few weeks.
Summail-1
This exploration well is located in the Dohuk PSC and it was spudded 19 April 2011. The Summail prospect is an undrilled prospect with significant potential, and it is considered to be the most exciting exploration target within DNO’s portfolio in Kurdistan since the Tawke discovery.
Yemen
Alsaiq-1
This well is located in the southern part of Block 47 and was spudded 17 March 2011. The Alsaiq is well is considered as a wild cat, since several new plays will be tested. Drilling operations are progressing according to plan.
New exploration acreage
As previously reported DNO is negotiating for new exploration acreage in Yemen (block 48) and Mozambique (Lower Zambezi).
