The Iraq Federal Government budget has just been approved by the parliament in Baghdad and the interpretation of that budget with respect to payment of IOCs (international oil companies), and the export requirements of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), will be assessed and communicated in due course by KRG to DNO.

Drilling and well operations

Kurdistan Region of Iraq

DNO has now completed the six production test program of the Bastora-1 exploration well in the Erbil license in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. As previously reported the two first tests in the lower Cretaceous interval produced water only, whilst the third and fourth tests flowed at rates of 4-600 bopd of 16-20 API. No flow to surface was achieved in the fifth test whilst the sixth test flowed at a rate below 100 bopd.
DNO is now preparing for drilling a horizontal section into the Bastora-1 well 3rd test interval. The horizontal section is planned at 500 meters in length at a vertical depth of 2,760 meters. The objective of this side-track is to penetrate carbonate fracture systems from a horizontal wellbore to increase production rates of this zone. This information will be essential for the further evaluations of development plans of the Bastora and Benenan discoveries.
The rig to be used for drilling the Summail-1 well in the Dohuk license is at present undergoing maintenance and repair at the well site. Spud is estimated second half of March.

Yemen

As previously reported the Block 72 partners decided to drill another exploration well, Gabdain-2, immediately after Gabdain-1, to test the possible up-dip potential of a Qishn prospect which was penetrated at the Gabdain-1 location. The well entered the Qishn reservoir deeper than prognosed and no hydrocarbons were encountered in the well. The Kohlan/basement discovery in Gabdain-1 will be further analyzed prior to any further appraisal plan.

Mozambique

The Inhaminga High-1 exploration well in Mozambique was spudded on 13 February. Drilling is progressing according to plan.
